A short description of the museum.

The museum was opened in 1999, following the discontinuation of the Norrahammars Bruk ironworks a few years earlier.

The museum is located in the old foundry buildings and covers some 1,200 sq.m. on three floors. The premises are adapted for easy access and there is parking space adjacent to the museum’s entrance.

The core of the museum consists of the old industrial settings and products, such as iron stoves, commissioned products, lawn mowers, household items, dishwashers, mills and many other products, representing the foundry’s production during more than 100 years.

During the mid-1900s, Norrahammars Bruk was a market leader in the production of boilers for private homes and blocks of flats.

Many others of the important industrial companies of the time are also represented here.

There is a large collection of pictures and other documentation showing people and local life in this part of the municipality of Jönköping.

The museum also houses some local interior settings from the 1920/30s, such as a fully equipped schoolroom, a carpenter’s shop and a shoemaker’s shop.

The museum is located on the premises of the radiator workshop.

For a year now, the Radio Museum in Jönköping has been co-located with the Industrial Museum. This was founded in 1988 and has one of the country's largest collections in radio and technology.

Kurze Beschreibung des Museums.

Unser Museum in Norrahammar begann seine Tätigkeit 1999, ein paar Jahre nachdem die restlichen Bestände der Norrahammars Bruk AB abgewickelt worden sind.

Das Museum ist in einem der ehemaligen Industriegebäude von Norrahammars Bruk untergebracht und umfasst rund 1.200 Quadratmeter Fläche in drei Etagen. Das Museum ist behindertengerecht mit einem Parkplatz direkt neben dem Eingang.

Die Basis des Museums besteht aus industriellen Umgebungen und Erzeugnissen wie z. B. Herdöfen, Bestellgütern, Rasenmähern, Haushaltsprodukten, Geschirrspülern, Mühlen und vielem anderen aus der über 100-jährigen Produktion des Unternehmens.

Viele Jahrzehnte lang war Norrahammars Bruk in der Mitte des 20.

Jahrhunderts Marktführer von Heizkesseln für Ein- und Mehrfamilienhäuser.

Viel andere der wichtigsten Industriezweige dieser Epoche sind ebenfalls im Museum ausgestellt. Hier findet man viele Abbildungen und Dokumente vom Leben und von den Menschen in diesem Teil der Kommune Jönköping.

Im Museum ist auch ein großes Klassenzimmer mit der typischen Ausstattung der 1920er und 1930er Jahre, sowie eine Tischlerwerkstatt und eine Schuhmacherei aus derselben Zeit zu sehen.

Das Museum liegt im ”Heizkörperwerk” auf dem ehemaligen Industriegebiet.

Seit einem Jahr befindet sich das Radiomuseum in Jönköping zusammen mit dem Industriemuseum. Das museum 1988 gegründet und besitzt eine der landesweit größten Sammlungen im Bereich Radio und Technik.
